Jun16 ZDI establishes new Vascular Laboratory at Lovelace Facilities

Under the direction of Robert Mals, MD of Zia Diagnostic Imaging, the Lovelace Health System Vascular Laboratory (LHSVL) was created in 2009. Lovelace Medical Center, Women’s Hospital and Westside Hospital offer examinations of extra cranial cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial and venous vascular regions.

As of February 1st, upper and lower extremity segmental pressure/waveform plethysmography will be provided. These tests allow for the diagnosis of almost all known or suspected vascular disorders and testing can often determine the severity of the problem and need for treatment.

The vascular sonography staff has excellent clinical expertise and are credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Vascular Ultrasound. Dr. Robert Mals is medical director and also Director of Interventional Radiology. Cyndi Namdar and Elizabeth Wade have served as co-technical directors providing unparalled quality assurance guidelines to insure the highest examination standards. Dmitry Garmaev will serve as technical director at LMC.

The Zia Diagnostic Imaging, LLC radiologists will be interpreting these studies. In addition to many years of experience, they have recently completed additional specialized training in Vascular Ultrasound.

The vascular laboratory is dedicated to providing excellence in patient care utilizing “state of the art” color duplex ultrasound images and various indirect testing equipment.
